Guns now third leading cause of death for US children

Few stories are more heartbreaking than those involving children who are injured or killed by gunshots. It isn't hard to find them: In June alone, a 6-year-old accidentally shot and killed a 4-year-old in South Carolina, a father accidentally shot and killed his 9-year-old daughter in Indiana and an 8-year-old Mississippi boy was accidentally shot in the chest. His grandparents drove him to the hospital, but he died 45 minutes later. Sadly, the list of child gun deaths goes on.

#3?
The solution is clear.
We need more guns.

Unarmed kids are easy prey. Age requirements for carry permits should be abolished. The Second Amendment, last time I checked, didn't say anything about having to be a teenager to carry a gun.

It's so much easier to bury the dead.

Actually it's easier to abort them first...

Disgusting. Using the death of children to advance your sick ideology.

I believe you should be required to take an extensive gun safety course before a gun purchase.

With live fire on a range to finish the requirements.

Provided by the NRA preferably

The US government should provide free gun safety and proficiency courses to all US citizens.

Illegals would be exempted of course.

The government provides free training in how to drive a car but crash fatalities are huge. Gun safety training isn't going to fix that problem either.

There might have to be a reasonable processing fee.

Gun safety is a huge issue and it is lacking nationwide.

Thank you for pointing out the general failure of Government. So this George is suggesting having to getting (expensive) private lessons? That is discrimination to the poor blocking their 2nd amendment right.

And For the record I have never had a formal gun safety/proficiency course and I am a pretty damn good shot.

That's the choice this country has made. It's not my choice.
It is your choice.

That choice comes with consequences.
Man up and accept them.

It's not about being "a good shot".

If I went to the range with you, I'd know in 5 minutes if I was ever going to the range with you again.

The public range is one dangerous place.

Hell, half my friends have A D D.

I now warn off people I know from buying a gun- once I know their background: drug use, booze use, A D D, lack of experience etc.

I'm now having my doubts about John Q Public willy nilly owning firearms
(and I'm a NRA guy)

There are two year olds that can pick off their sister with a single shot.
They are a good shot too.

For the record.

In the combination of the guns laying around..pretty much every one of them.

But hey... like Robert, they didn't take any safety classes that stuck...
