Venezuela braces for 'mother of all protests'; The Hugo Chavez years of insanity coming to an end

Venezuela braced for rival demonstrations Wednesday for and against President Nicolas Maduro, whose push to tighten his grip on power has triggered waves of deadly unrest that have escalated the country's political and economic crisis.

Maduro's opponents are vowing to stage the "mother of all protests" calling for his ouster, after two weeks of violent demonstrations that have left five people dead and dozens wounded.

Sowing fears of more violence, Maduro has in turn urged his supporters, along with the military and civilian militias, to defend the leftist "revolution" launched by his predecessor Hugo Chavez in 1999.

It is set to be the biggest day of protests since Maduro's allies tried to strip the power of the opposition-controlled legislature -- the only lever of government Maduro's camp does not hold -- and banned opposition leader Henrique Capriles from politics.

The streets of Caracas have seen running battles pitting masked protesters hurling stones and Molotov xxxxtails against riot police firing tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons

On April 12th last week, ....last week!, the slobbering idiots running the government of Venezuela paid the bond holders on Wall Street, who are in the possession of Venezuelan bonds issued during the Chavez years, 2.1 Billion dollars in interest payments!

Two-point-one billion dollars. To Wall Street! To a HATED group of sniveling capitalists whom Hugo Chavez said was destroying the economies of most of the world. Capitalists. Crystal-slurping rich guys. Maserati owners.

This is such an UNBELIEVABLE story one hardly believes it to be true. People in Venezuela are shuffling through garbage cans to find food. The medicine supplies in MOST, if not all, hospitals are at their bear minimum. People are dying from hunger, malnutrition and easily curable maladies. Yet, the Bolivarian Revolution, is paying Wall Street its interest payments because it is too embarrassing to admit that they are bankrupt, ...kaputt. You just can't make this stuff up. Over the past 3 years the imbeciles in Caracas have paid over 53 Billion dollars in interest payments, when EVERYONE who works in the financial communities KNOW that they are going to go bankrupt anyway! It's inevitable, it's just around the corner. Yet these freakish idiots keep paying and paying Wall Street bond holders. Wow! What a story!

From the Washington Post last week....

Quote:

Venezuela is living through a second week of rowdy anti-government street protests, with demonstrators fighting running battles with riot police employed by a government that has virtually run out of money. Nothing is as revealing as how you spend when money’s really tight. That’s when you reveal your down-at-the-core commitments, the things you really believe in.

For Venezuela’s Socialist Revolutionary government, that turns out to be Wall Street.

On Wednesday, even as protesters in Caracas dodged tear gas canisters and water cannons, Venezuela’s state-owned oil giant, PDVSA, will be dishing out $2 billion to pay international bondholders. This, it turns out, is sacrosanct. In 18 years of revolution, Venezuela has never missed a bond payment.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/global-opinions/wp/2017/04/12/wall-streets-favorite-socialist-revolution/?utm_term=.75d4fc844f14

Eighteen years of Chavismo, and they've NEVER missed a bond payment! Billions and billions of dollars which could have gone for food/medicine. Really. You-can't-make-this-stuff-up...! Commies/socialists paying Wall Street their fair share. Not for the poor of Venezuela, ...Wall Street bond holders. Making a fortune, buying new apartments for their mistresses. Wow.

And it goes on...

Quote:

It’s hard to overstate the hardships Venezuelans have had to endure so the payment could be made. It meant draconian cuts to everything else: government services, public investment, even food and medicine imports. These are the kinds of cuts that make themselves felt not just in an economist’s equations, but in people bellies: Last year, three out of four Venezuelans reported losing weight because they couldn’t find enough food to eat.

It’s the central paradox of the Bolivarian Socialism. By this point, the revolution has now stiffed everyone it could have possibly stiffed: the United Nations, small-scale miners, airlines, the all-important oil service contractors that keep its oil industry running, its own diplomats, even newborn babies. Everyone, pretty much, except Wall Street.

This is bizarre: Absolutely everyone can see that on its current policy path, Venezuela will not be able to keep servicing its debt much longer. Barring fundamental changes in economic policy or an unexpected surge in oil prices, all Venezuela can do is keep putting the inevitable off a little longer, borrowing against collateral and squeezing its population harder and harder to keep bondholders happy.

The proud "Bolivarian Revolution" supporting the interest (literally) of Wall Street.

"I give all of the money of Venezuela to you, the devil-horned capitalists of Wall Street...!"

I have a lot of contacts in Venezuela. I've been there on a number of occasions. I've been following that government, the Chavez government- then the Maduro government, for over 10 years. I have business contacts living in Venezuela. I've been made privy to some major news stories concerning the Maduro government. Even Che would be jealous....

That piece by Rachel Maddow was the dumbest, most stupid piece of half-a$$ed journalism on Venezuela I've seen in a long time. Wow. What an idiot. It reminds me of her FAMOUS 2016 election night coverage...

There is no food in Venezuela, just empty shelves (as seen above).

http://elcooperante.com/el-pais-la-vida-cotidiana-en-venezuela-ya-es-una-batalla-campal/

Venezuela is a complete and total economic disaster. They are fighting in the streets on a daily basis. People are hungry. People have no medicine. The hospitals can barely function. There is a total economic collapse taking place.

Yet, last week the Maduro government gave away 2.1 billion of the peoples money to Wall Street. Last year they gave almost 9 billion to Wall Street. According to most financial analysts the Maduro government will run out of money within 12 months, and then ...default. It's unavoidable, inevitable. The utter stupidity taking place is simply beyond belief.

The slimy idiot decided today to handout another pay increase to everyone. Hoorah! Hoorah!

Money for everyone! See? I give the people more money, they will be happy, they will be content.

Print. Print. Print. See? More money! Print. Print. Print. The highest inflation in the world.

Gosh, I wonder why?

Quote:

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro hiked wages and handed out hundreds of free homes Sunday amid his efforts to counter a strengthening protest movement seeking his removal.

On his regular television show, "Sundays with Maduro," the president ordered a 60 percent increase in the country's minimum wage starting Monday. It was the third pay increase the socialist leader has ordered this year and the 15th since he became president in 2013.

It is small solace to workers who seen the buying power of their earnings eroded by a sinking currency and the world's highest inflation - forecast to accelerate to 2,000 percent next year, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Trump is our Maduro

Trump Just Gave The World’s Brutal Dictators The Gift They’ve Always Wanted

President Trump and his administration has just announced that they will “no longer condition its foreign relationships on countries adopting U.S. values like human rights,” news that will be cheered by despots and dictators around the world and met with horror from their downtrodden peoples who once looked to the United States as an ostensible defender of human rights across the world.

“In some circumstances, if you condition our national security efforts on someone adopting our values, we probably can’t achieve our national security goals. It really does create obstacles” said Tillerson, adding that we need to reassess whether our post-Cold War alliances continue to serve our interests. “These are really important alliances, but we’ve got to bring them back into balance.”

In February, when asked about Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s tendency to murder those who stand in his way, Trump replied “There are a lot of killers. Got a lot of killers. What, do you think our country’s so innocent?”

It appears that President Trump is intent on joining the brotherhood of butchers, envious of the strength that despots exude. In the past few weeks, he has praised:

Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who responded to a coup last summer by arresting 45,000 people, including political opponents, journalists, academics, and Kurds.

Egyptian dictator Fattah Abdul el-Sisi, who took power in a military coup d’etat deposing the country’s first democratically elected president. He promptly massacred 800 Islamists, and holds thousands of political opponents in secret torture prisons.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, whose death squads have killed over 7,000 people in a horrifying slaughter of drug addicts and dealers alike – killings he boasts that he has personally taken part in.

North Korean dictator Kim jong-Un, who has recently taken over the regime but wasted no time in demonstrating his sadistic streak, publicly executing troublesome officials by anti-aircraft weapons, mortars, and even flame throwers.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who rules with an iron fist and has murdered hundreds of political opponents, especially journalists who ask too many questions. His genocidal wars in Syria and Chechnya have killed tens of thousands of people.

These are the sort of men who President Trump admires. A delusional narcissist obsessed with his self-image and the need to fulfill an absurd standard of hypermasculinity, President Trump appears to be intent on his nihilistic quest to join the ranks of authoritarian despots around the world, and he doesn’t care who suffers in the process – as hundreds of thousands, if not millions, will across the world.

While the United States has been far from consistent on the subject of human rights, dictators and strongmen despots now know they can freely prosecute journalists, jail thousands of dissidents, or even openly massacre their own people without condemnation or consequence from the so-called land of the free.

Today, the city of Valencia is in total chaos. There is no food. People are rioting, breaking into warehouses to grab anything to support life. Amazing. Unbelievable. Maduro paid Wall Street over 55 billion dollars in interest payments over the last 3 years, and, as a result, did not purchase any food for his people. Ponder the insanity here. Socialists, starving their own people, and paying Wall Street.

You just can't make this stuff up...
